Up to £30 per week EMA plus travel expenses, childcare and up to £125 bonuses
- You will be treated as a Work Based Learner and you will be eligible to apply for an Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA)
- The amount of EMA you receive depends on your household income
- EMA is paid directly into your bank account and household benefits are not affected
- On top of the EMA you will be able to claim back your daily travel to the e2e training centre
- If you have children you can apply for Care to Learn which covers the costs of registered childcare whilst you attend e2e
Improve your confidence with Maths and English
- There are lots of interesting ways to improve your Basic Maths & English skills. Many people find it difficult to find and keep jobs if they are not confident in their number work or reading and writing.
- E2e can help you work at your own pace on these important skills. You will cover interesting and relevant learning themes and take assessments in manageable stages. Take assessments online using interesting computer programmes. You can even achieve GCSE standard by a more flexible route!
Useful IT skills
- Whilst on e2e you can learn IT and computer skills which are in demand by employers.
- CLAIT – is a qualification which covers all the main functions of computer work that you may need including:
Word Processing;
Spreadsheets;
Databases and the
Internet
- You can work through CLAIT in easy to manage stages.
- Once you have completed CLAIT there is an option to further develop your skills by taking an ECDL qualification.
Gain a City & Guilds Profile of Achievement Qualification
- Whilst on e2e all your activities and progress can be recorded and collected to create a portfolio for the City & Guilds Profile of Achievement Award.
- You can also do project work on a subject that interests you. In the past we have seen projects on drugs & alcohol awareness, street car racing and even witchcraft!
- You can add to your profile of achievement over a period of time and gradually build up a folder of work.
Friendly, sociable and work-like atmosphere
- e2e is designed to get you ready for work. You will be encouraged to bring together your skills, interests and work through your options. You will be treated and respected like adults and we will expect you to work alongside other trainees as you would do at work.
- You will be expected to research job areas that you are interested in. We will help you prepare for work placements with local employers. Experienced staff from Dr.B’s Training centre will act as a mentor during your placement and will also support the employer.
Personal Help & support from trained staff
- We understand that many people have difficulties or problems in their lives which they have to overcome on a daily basis. This often causes problems when thinking about getting a job or going to college. As part of the e2e experience we can offer advice and support and work with connexions PAs to help you feel comfortable.
Personal & social awareness building to help you inside and outside of work
- Whilst on e2e we will help you become more aware of yourself and others to help you make the best of your opportunities. We will introduce you to varied ideas so you can understand society, respect yourself and be tolerant of others. These skills and experiences will help you in the world of work.
